Who We Are
Our mission is to display the glory of Jesus Christ to all nations by making disciples.
Why start a church here?
First, we are living more segmented, disconnected and lonely lives than ever before. One example of this here is in the gentrification and displacement of the materially poor in southeast Raleigh. Many are being scattered among “transplants” in nearby places like Knightdale.
Second, this area is our most racially diverse local area. And yet Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s words remain true some 55 years later: "it is appalling that the most segregated hour of Christian America is eleven o'clock on Sunday morning."
Third, among the 30,000 residents in Knightdale, LifeWay research reports that there are only five gospel-centered churches.
Finally, many have encouraged us to start a church in this area. Local churches and partners have affirmed, trained and are investing their people and money into this work. Together we are praying for God to rebuild our lives and community with the power of Christ.
Revelation 7:9 tells us, in that day, all of those who call on the name of the Lord, from all nations, tribes, and tongues will worship God together. There will be great diversity before the throne of God. Our vision for Reconciliation Church is for our church community to be a “movie trailer” glimpse of the reality of what will be before God’s throne on that day. We want to see diverse worship in our church.
Gospel. Every aspect of our lives will be centered upon the gospel and will be reflected in how we serve.
Disciple Making. Like Jesus, we will go and make disciples of all nations and equip them to do the same.
Empowering Community. We will create a culture that empowers the powerless so that all will flourish.
